MSSC struggle report (04/03/21)
Yesterday for some of MSSC members was a day of propaganda, for others more a day for relaxing. In the afternoon three migrant workers and one Korean supporter went to a church near Dongdaemun stadium – because there is every Sunday free health checking for migrant workers - to distribute leaflets and make propaganda for our struggle. We came in discussions with migrant workers from Mongolia, Bangladesh and Pakistan. Many of them didn’t know about our struggle and were really astonished at the fact that there are migrants who are fighting against South Korean government and of course the fact that we are occupying since now 128 days Myeong-dong Cathedral’s compound.
After one interesting discussion on before yesterday’s anti-war rally with a Korean activist – she tried to convince the writer of this lines that it should be very important for to make a serious struggle for another society to participate on rallies against Roh’s impeachment – we decided that one will go in the evening to Gwanghwamun to participate there and make propaganda also for our struggle.
Arrived there the leaflet distributor begun his job, but short while later demonstrators came and started to attack him verbally and threaten to call the cops (interesting idea, really!). But the cops were already on the spot and one civil cop asked his colleague who the leaflet distributor could be and got the answer: “Migrants’ Branch (이주지부)”. At least this was the time to clear off from the scene.
After all, an interesting idea, but because, objective the “activists” against the impeachment are definitely on the other side of the barricade, doomed to failure! Welcome back in the bitter reality!
