MSSC Struggle Report (04/03/02)
At first the bad news: yesterday in the early afternoon immigration officers and riot police started with the already Feb 22 announced “strict crackdown”. In 마석 around 2 pm they started to round up migrant workers from the streets and factories. During this process they also stormed the onetime house of the former ETU-MB’s 마석 chapter chief Kabir Uddin, arrested four migrant workers and demolished furniture and other belongings of the residents. Responsible for this criminal act of vandalism and violation of human rights: Maseok’s chief of police LEE (call them, kick them in their f… asses!). All together at least 22 migrant workers they arrested there. In Gwangneungnae they arrested at least 8 persons, 의정부: 11명. And we’ve information that there were arrests in 안산, 안양, 수원… In Ansan they sealed off a hotel many migrant workers are living there. Today when our Korean comrades wanted to visit our 화성보호소, they had to see that many busses with new captured migrant workers were arriving. One they were able to identify: 9 Filipino from 수원. And it seems that this is only the beginning.
The situation in 화성: invariable bad. Until now our ill comrades got no medical treatment and especially Byambajav Baraash (40 y.), a migrant worker from Mongolia, is in very critical conditions and needs urgent medical treatment in a hospital.
Also again the “authorities” there are refusing our visit requests, just it seem that they want to isolate our comrades from us and the public solidarity. Of course we’ll fight against this idea! Maybe today immigration “authorities” will get a perfect surprise!
And since yesterday, together with comrades from 투쟁과 밥, we’re preparing a surprise for our 3.6 연대의 밤 (march 6, 오후3시, 고려대학교 학생식당). If we really can realize this project, perhaps it could be a good propaganda success for our struggle.
