MSSC STRUGGLE REPORT (04-04-16/17)

While the most of our comrades were in their home regions for organizing the next struggle steps, twenty MSSC members joined yesterday¡¯s rally of disabled people. By this means disabled activists wanted to celebrate the end of their sit-in struggle – 26 days they were there - in front of Seyong Center.
First of all around 200 people, at 2 pm disabled activists and many supporters (mainly student groups, but also KCTU new president Lee Soo-ho, KDLP¡¯s new MPs Kim Hae-kyeong and Shim Sang-jeong, Socialist Party, PSSP and others more) gathered in Deahak-no¡¯s Marronier Park near downtown Seoul. Here in several speeches the speakers demanded especially human rights, like the right to move, because for example physical disabled people here cannot use buses (no way to get in with a wheelchair). Some made the connection how the government is treating migrant workers, disabled people and other oppressed minorities, one comrade said: ¡°Just they are treating us like non humans.¡±
Of course on the rally powerful performances were given by Park Joon, ZEN and others.
Around 4 pm after the rally we marched in the direction of Jongmyo Park downtown Seoul. While in the beginning we¡¯d only two traffic lines for our demonstration on Jong-no, one of Seoul¡¯s main boulevards, we were able by struggling to get four lines, the half of the whole road.
In front of Jongmyo Park, blocking the road until 8.40 pm, the finishing rally turned in a kind of big party! Just a great event and on the end we promised each other not to give up the struggle until we¡¯re accepted as human beings, getting complete equality in this society.
Yeah, Stop Crackdown comunity made stickers (½ºÆ¼Ä¿/ÇÏÇÏ) for to support or struggle and for a kind of propaganda for our rally and demonstration next Sunday, 3 pm in Jongmyo Park. If someone wants to make propaganda for our issue, the stickers are available on our struggle site in Myeong-dong, tent no 2.
