But this time we lost!
Already it is written, that 2 of our comrades, one Nepalese and one Bangladeshi, got in capture.
But from the beginning: In front of the Bangladeshi embassy we’d, how it was planned and announced, our protest rally. There already around 100 riot cops were waiting for us.
During the rally we got the information, that in the nearby Capitol Hotel at least 40 immigration officers are hanging around.
So we got a little speed and finished our rally after altogether one hour. We went fast in the direction of Naksapyeong station, but 100 riot cops were following us, were able to pass us (were not able for fast speed, because of several elderly members) and to block us. As next the immigration officers arrived. But the cops - not like Dec 31 in Mokdong, where they were completely inactive – started to encircle us. But they did not complete, more like a U and on the opening the migration officers were able to make their job. By using extreme violence and also tear gas spray they attacked us and tried to pull out members. Despite our fierce fight back they were able to capture two of our comrades. Students, our Korean staff and even one priest tried to prevent the capture and later they wanted to liberate them. During this struggle the riot cops supported the immigration officers and several cases of maltreatment were evident. While our supporters tried to block the cars where our comrades brought - the cops again violently took part in the battle - we were able to escape and run to the subway station.
Result of the whole, beside we lost two of our worthy comrades: It is now a clear thing that there’s no fun anymore, not at all. They start now to hunt us as soon as we will leave our struggle site. So we’ve to think about our tactics…
After this event 60 people gathered in Mokdong to hold a protest rally in front of Seoul Immigration Office.
