Solidarity night for migrant workers struggle and other events

First of all our solidarity night (¿¬´ëÀÇ ¹ã/ÀÏÀÏÈåÇÁ) was a magnificent success! Thanks to all who helped us to make it possible!
But let¡¯s begin with the beginning of the great Saturday! In the morning ten migrant workers and our supporters went to Korea University to prepare everything what we needed, like the food, the booth for selling the t-shirts etc.
Meanwhile the majority of MSSC (Myeong-dong Sit-in Struggle Collective) prepared for the event before the big event: joining the rally and demonstration for celebrating March 8¡¯s International Women Day KCTU organized in Jongmyo Park. Several hundred female workers but also male workers, perhaps 50 per cent of all, joined the rally there. This years rally focused particularly on the issue of the massive exploitation of women in South Korea, unjust payment etc.
The demonstration after the rally led us to ¡¦yeah, Myeong-dong. Especially the final rally there was a meaningful sign about the importance of our struggle. Here Radika, a migrant worker woman from Nepal, since February 17 in hunger strike, held the main speech about our struggle and the importance of the unity of migrant and Korean workers, female and male workers.
After the final rally we rode on a bus, the new KCTU president Lee Soo-ho joined us, to the Korea University. Arrived there the amazement was great about the big number of guests our solidarity afternoon/night attracted. Hundreds of members of different trade unions, organized in the KCTU and hundreds of students, mainly self-organized (by the way: this shows us where is the real future of a new leftwing movement is lays!) sat on tables, on the ground or walked around, had lively discussions or just enjoyed the event, the delicious food and the impressive cultural program, started short after our arrival. All together at least 1.200 people joined the event (even some are telling that the total number of participants were by 2.500).
Members of Struggle and Rice (ÅõÀï°ú ¹ä). Students presented a exhibition about migrant workers struggle. And everywhere you were able only to see beaming faces.
Especially the cultural program was fascinating. The beginning made Stop Crackdown Band and immediately the audience went crazy, just you can see in some pictures. The performance of Zen was also very impressive. And the MSSC ¡°mime¡± team had its best performance since ever. During the program beside other trade union activists KCTU president Lee Soo-ho held a solidarity speech to give our struggle more power then before.
And very important, the unity between Koreans and migrant workers got much more strength, never possible to break. Finally during the night many new friendships were made. As we said in the beginning, just A MAGNIFICENT SUCCESS!
