LAST WEEK'S REPORT (¼¿ï, 12.28)

Actually last week brought not real spectacular news, except that the sit-in strike, beside others against the National "Security" Law on Yeouido, near the National Assembly is continuing and slowly expanding.

Last Thursday, December 23, anti-war groups were calling for a rally on the same place to demand the withdrawal of S. Korean troops out off Iraq, and of course also all the other occupation forces too. But unfortunately only 150 people joined the rally. Hopefully it was just because of the "holy"day vacation, because if it would be a trend (one year ago thousands were participating, some weeks ago just 350, now 150... what will bring the next time??) than the future of the anti-war movement is not so good, not really. Actually the view over the rally made more sad...

On Saturday the hard core of the former MSSC (Myeong-dong Sit-in Struggle Collective) together with many Korean friends and comrades celebrated a kind of year's end party. Beside the excellent food (Korean, Bangladeshi and Greek) the atmosphere was just great (by the way: the opening speech held the old anarchist activist Kim Won-shik - very impressive, but also funny. THANX A LOT, DEAR COMRADE!). Everyone had a lot of fun and it could be a successful conclusion of this year, full with fierce struggles.

Before yesterday, Sunday, the reporter was invited to the 3rd Migrant Worker Culture Festival in Ansan. But unfortunately after the arrival there the show already was over. So while hanging around there a Indonesian comrade, long time very active inside MSSC, passed by and said that the comrades still are waiting for the reporter. But where, what kind of event now?
The answer of this question: Short beside Ansan station in two big tents Gyeonggi-do Construction Workers Union (KFCITU) together with some supporters and migrant workers celebrated their year's end party. Many comrades, we know from our common struggle (many month we were together in sit-in strike in Myeong-dong), joined the great and powerful event. THANKS A LOT COMRADES!

Finally here some more impressions from our party last Saturday
