MSSC STRUGGLE REPORT (04-04-06/07)

Back in town since yesterday evening!
Before yesterday we went to a rural area north of Maseok for MT. First of all we made the serious stuff: we¡¯d had to discuss the future of our struggle. In six groups we analyzed the past and the current situation of migrant workers fight against government¡¯s policy of manhunt, mass deportation and implementing EPS. We came to the conclusion that we are still very weak, because only few migrants until now are willing to take the risk and join our sit-in struggle. As we already wrote some days before in an article (04.02)
government¡¯s policy of mass deportation failed, but partly the ¡°authorities¡± succeeded in targeting our collective (four arrests and three deportations since we started the sit-in struggle is not a real glory). At firs first we made the decision to continue the strike even it will be very hard for us. Secondly we agreed that the consequence from this decision means nothing else as to make much more efforts to organize our comrades in the different regions in the country. We have to make them clear that without their help we will lose the struggle. Alone we have no power, not at all (By the way migrants are just a part of this society here and their acting is similar to the acting of Koreans, for example in the case of troop dispatching. The majority of the citizens are against it, but they just sitting and watching what the activists are doing without to understand that we only will be able to win if the majority is acting on the street!). The way, how to organize on a better way we have to find out the next days or weeks.
After this decision of serious consequences we gathered around a campfire and had a fantastic barbecue in a great atmosphere (as you can see in the pictures).
The next day was more for relaxing with some sport, games or enjoying the nature.
When we came back to Seoul/Myeong-dong we¡¯d to learn that nothings changed: the riot cops still were hanging around our struggle site, anti-impeachment rallies still are going and again we had the opportunity to distribute our leaflet to the audience.
